EDUCATIONAL INTERPRETER (see flyer)

REQUIRED BY: Nova Central School District

LOCATION: Botwood

POSITION SCOPE: Under the direction of the Nova Central School District, the successful applicant will provide interpreting for a student who is deaf, classmates and educational staff in an educational setting.

REQUIREMENTS:

graduation from a recognized Interpreter Training Program
demonstrated knowledge and skills in American Sign Language • superior level of English (grammar and vocabulary)written, spoken and signed
strong academic background
demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with students and staff
demonstrated ability to work as a team member
ability to work in a public school setting
community college diploma or university work in special education or child development desirable
minimum of Intermediate Plus on the SLPI signing test

TERM:
Full-time position for the 2010-2011 school year (September 7, 2010 – June 24, 2011.

SALARY:
24.72/Hr @ 35 hours/week
